Tours leave at 9am and 12pm, from December 11, 2004 through March/April. You can see Gray Whales migrating to and from Mexico right near our La Jolla launching area. They can get so close you can see them by just paddling 15 minutes out! Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort guests must not miss this exciting opportunity to see these amazing creatures up close and personal. Approx. 3 hrs. (Due to the nature of Wildlife, we cannot guarantee sightings). Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort guests should bring: warm change of clothes, towel, bathing suit. Included in your tour: full wetsuit, kayak, paddle, PFD, whale-savvy guide and refreshments. Harbor Excursions and Ferry - Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort guests can hop aboard and cruise San Diego Bay on a U.S. Coast Guard certified vessel. A 12-mile cruise will take you one hour and costs $13 for adults, $11 for seniors, and $6.50 for children ages 4-12. Two-hour tours are 25 miles and are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors, and $9 for children ages 4-12. Oceanside harbor District offers boat fuel, slips and a paved launch ramp. Rental watercraft is not available, but Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort guests can buy groceries, ice, bait and other items. In addition, the district is surrounded by many local restaurants and shops that have a nautical theme. Some parking lots charge a $5 fee, but the launch ramp is free.
